What Is Agave Used For?

When you hear about Agave it's usually around a conversation about Mezcal or Tequila as it's the raw material used to create these delicious and truly Mexican spirits. What you probably haven't heard is how Agave is supporting communities and households all over Mexico.

Agave fibre is extremely strong and get's even stronger once dried. It is used commonly in Mexico for building roofs of houses, paper, textiles, ovens, fencing and irrigation. It's a 100% Eco-friendly product that comes directly from the plant itself. The Pencas (leaves) and fibre of the Pina (heart of the agave) can both be utilised.
