In Zapotec (pre-hispanic culture from central Mexico) "Jolgorios" are moments of joy, celebration and remembrance. El Jolgrio Mezcal has created a range of artisanal Mezcales which reflect Mexican culture and tradition. This El Jolgorio expression is produced from 100% wild-harvest Agave Espadin. Agave Espadin is the most prevalent species of Agave in Southern Mexico, reaching full maturity between 8 to 10 years; significantly faster than other Agaves. Due to its commonality only a truly unique and special specimen of Agave Espadín is bottled as to become part of El Jolgorio family of Mezcales. After distillation the Mezcal is transferred to glass containers where it is rested for seven years before bottling, allowing for the spirit to mellow and its flavours to develop fully.
